Lindos and Acropolis of Lindos

Lindos is one of the most popular destinations on the island, because as already said, it combines the natural landscape with monuments from antiquity and the Middle Ages in a traditional village. The Acropolis of Lindos is classified as a monument, like the old town of Rodos, and as a result receives thousands of visitors each year. Acropolis is a hill accessible by foot or by donkey. Lindos village has its own unique character with the white houses beneath the acropolis. But the attention of any visitor is being caught by the famous mansions, their date of construction being engraved in their front doors.

Kalithea Springs in Rhodes island

Kalithea Springs is located between the two holiday resorts, Kalithea and Faliraki, in the northern part of Rhodes.

Kalithea Springs is a spa, which dates all the way back to the classical Antiquity, but the current facilities were built by the Italians in 1929. After a thorough renovation, the beautiful facilities reopened as a museum with an adjoining beach in the summer of 2007.

The beach is located in a bay with sun lounges on both sides. On the one side, there is also a restaurant/café.

The beach is a mixture of sand, gravel and pebbles. The water is shallow and usually completely calm.

Tsampika beach in Rhodes island

Tsambika is an 800 meters long beach of fine pure sand, gently shelving on the east coast of the island of Rhodos. Distant at about 26 km from the capital, this pure-sand beach has survived from permanent development as most of the land is owned by the Orthodox Church. In fact, at the north end of the beach, on a sharp peak overlooking the beach, there is the church of Panagià Tsambika. This beach is considered as one of the best beaches on the island. It has crystal clear waters and it’s considered ideal for families with children as it is all sandy and shallow. There are umbrellas and loungers, watersports and a few canteens for sandwiches, ice cream and refreshments. Tsambika can be reached by public transport but it is better to get there by car or bike as there are a lot of interesting surroundings to explore. Ancient Kamiros in Rhodes

The archaeological area of Kameiros comprises the settlement, which was built on three levels, with the following monuments:

Acropolis and Precinct of Athena Kameiras. The Doric temple, a tetrastyle peripteral (with porticos on all four sides), was surrounded by a peribolos. It replaced a previous Classical temple which was destroyed by the earthquake of 226 BC. Only its foundation has survived.
